چکیده

The yield potential of switchgrass was verified by testing seven cultivars in a small-scale experiment carried out from 2018 to 2022 on Gleyic Fluvisol under Central European conditions. treatments are as follows: pre-sowing (i/HA) soil humic preparation Humac AGRO (based leonardite) with an ameliorative dose 1000.0 kg ha−1 or (ii/NPK) basic nutrition 220.0 NPK; annual 70 N applied both (HA, NPK) and compared (iii/UC) untreated control. A dry matter (DM) 9.02 t achieved the total average, which varied 0.05 60.64 ha−1. affected mainly years (F-ratio 106.64), then 79.03), followed 56.87), finally replications 0.00). Switchgrass productivity increased according utility year; however, driest year (2020—388 mm, 2021—372 2022—288 mm) changed order three full (12.44, 19.13, 7.73 DM, respectively). HA gives highest DM 13.69 average values 9.19 4.19 for NPK UC, respectively. Potential ecological impacts of switchgrass (Panicum virgatum L.) biofuel cultivation in the Central Great Plains, USA

Switchgrass (Panicum virgatum L.) is a broadly adapted warm-season grass species native to most of the central and eastern United States. Switchgrass has been identified as a potential biofuel species because it is a native species that requires minimal management, and has a large potential to sequester carbon underground. Since the 1990’s, switchgrass has been bred to produce cultivars with in...

the effect of taftan pozzolan on the compressive strength of concrete in the environmental conditions of oman sea (chabahar port)

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...

Pollen Viability and Longevity of Switchgrass (Panicum virgatum L.)

Pollen is essential for seed production and serves as the primary means of gene flow in outcrossing species like switchgrass (Panicum virgatum L.). There is a lack of information on basic pollen biology in switchgrass. This study investigated pollen viability, pollen longevity, and pollen size using different materials, including the tetraploid cultivar Alamo, the octoploid cultivar Cave-in-Roc...

Rust Diseases on Switchgrass (Panicum virgatum)

Switchgrass (Panicum virgatum) is a perennial C 4 grass native to the central prairies of North America. Recent development of switchgrass as a sustainable biofuel feedstock has raised interest in diseases that could impact switchgrass, especially when grown under monoculture conditions. Among the known diseases of switchgrass, rust diseases are the most widespread and could potentially impact ...

Gene flow matters in switchgrass (Panicum virgatum L.), a potential widespread biofuel feedstock.

There currently exists a large push for the use, improvement, and expansion via landscape modification of dedicated biofuel crops (feedstocks) in the United States and in many parts of the world. Ecological concerns have been voiced because many biofuel feedstocks exhibit characteristics associated with invasiveness, and due to potential negative consequences of agronomic genes in native wild p...
